That's all she took!

{365 days of taking, editing and posting pictures.  I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started Project 365, but today as I post my final picture I really do feel quite accomplished!  It was a fun project, but way more intensive than I could have imagined.  Needless to say I am looking forward to 2012 being a year with a few less pictures!  Happy New Year!}

Bowl Game Day

{Today we had a fun time watching BYU's bowl game with my parents.  It was an exciting game, especially when BYU scored the winning touchdown with 11 seconds to go!  Despite a somewhat underwhelming season, the Cougars finished 10-3, with a great win over Tulsa!  Please excuse the child wearing only a diaper.  He had been throwing up all day, with no other symptoms, and was in-between one of his 6 clothing changes when we snapped the picture.}

Carter Flies a Plane

{Today Papa took us for a ride in his airplane.  I was a little worried we might have another fire station incident after Carter was so hyped up about it, but he absolutely loved it.  He even got to sit in the front and "fly" the plane for most of the ride.  He was so happy!  I got lots of great pictures, so they will be coming soon!}

Father/Son Project

{Ray and his Dad have been working on a surprise fire station for Carter while we have been out in Utah for Christmas.  It is really coming together and looking awesome!  I can't wait to see the final result, and can only imagine how excited Carter is going to be!}

Carter's First Fish

{Today we checked out the brand new park near Grandma and Grandpa Forman's house, which has a great fishing pond.  Carter used his new Cars fishing pole he got for Christmas, and within 10 minutes of arriving had caught his very first fish, a rainbow trout!  Carter thought fishing was fun until he saw the fish flopping around, and was pretty apprehensive after that.  I think the look on his face in the picture says it all!  By the end of the day Grandpa and Carter had caught 2 trout, and 3 small catfish (which Carter called baby fish and they released back into the pond.)  All and all a pretty successful fishing trip on a beautiful day in St. George!}

Little Shepherd Boy

{This year Carter played a shepherd in the family Christmas program.  He did a great job and looked darling!  One of my favorite moments of the night was when he mistook his staff for a candy cane and tried eating it!}

Mafia Night

{One of our favorite things to do when we are in Utah is get together with the Denney family to play Mafia and 4 on the couch.  We had a big group together tonight and all had a great time.  I was a little disappointed to be eliminated in the first round in an attempt to sacrifice myself for the good of the citizens, and of course Ray was Mafia in both rounds!}

Lights at the Temple

{Tonight we headed out on a fun outing in St. George to take in some of the Christmas sights.  We had planned to go to the live nativity at Tuacahn only to find out it had been cancelled for the night, so we made a detour to the St. George Temple to see the lights and not-so-live nativity.  Cater was especially in awe of the "big white temple" and it was a fun evening out with the Formans!  You can see the crew walking up to the temple in the bottom right corner of the picture.}

{Since arriving in Cedar City, Carter has been so wound up that he has basically refused to do anything but play.  He loves his cousins!}

Road Trippin'

{Today was a monster day in the car for us, as we tackled over 900 miles.  And Carter...the absolutely perfect little traveler!  He played games, sang songs, ate snacks, took a nap and watched a couple of videos, and was honestly as good as a two year could possibly be.  The end is in sight, we should be arriving in Cedar City early tomorrow!

Little Boy...Big Tree

{Tonight while we were in Allen we stopped by the big Christmas Tree at Macy's, to get one last look before we hit the road.  It was cold and rainy, so we didn't stay for the light show, but Carter liked seeing the "tall, Christmas tree!"}

Sticker Nativity

{Today we worked on a little sticker nativity I had picked up for Carter.  While the finished product didn't look like your typical nativity scene, it was fun teaching Carter about each item, and a nice activity for another rainy day!}

Watters Creek

{We were supposed to meet up with our playgroup today at Watters Creek, but unfortunately it started raining on our way down.  We decided since we were there anway, to get out for a few minutes and walk around, and enjoyed checking out the big, warm fireplace and huge Christmas tree!}

Christmas Lights

{Tonight for family night we went on our annual Christmas light tour.  We had a fun time, and Carter especially loved it!  He kept saying "I see more Christmas lights, please!" and enjoyed all the fun decorations we saw.  We love going to the Deerfield neighborhood in Plano, most of the houses are decorated and done really well.  It is a great family tradition!

{Carter has been putting a cotton ball on Santa's beard every day as we count down to our upcoming Christmas vacation.  Santa's beard is getting pretty full!}

Santa's Village

{Tonight we headed to Santa's Village in Richardson for a fun evening out.  We went last year and enjoyed it, but this year was much more fun with an older child, and especially without the weekend crowds!  More pictures coming soon!}

Christmas Cookies

{Today we got together with our playgroup at Noah and Emily's house to make some Christmas Cookies.  Carter had a great time playing with his friends, and making and decorating the cookies.  Of course half the fun of decorating cookies is eating the toppings, and Carter was pretty much a pro!}

Help Yourself

{Today on the way home from Target we stopped by Del Taco to grab a burrito for lunch.  When we got home I went in the bathroom to wash my hands, and while I was there heard a rustling noise.  I came out and Carter was totally scarfing down my burrito!  I didn't really have any cravings while I was pregnant with Carter, but I LOVED bean and cheese burritos.  Obviously the frequent burrito consumption has rubbed off on Carter as well!  And don't worry, he was nice enough to "share" the burrito with the dog.  So much for my lunch!}

Santa

{Today Carter finally got to go see Santa.  I didn't know if he would go sit on his lap this year, since he can be pretty shy at times, and while he was a little timid at first, he warmed right up.  He whispered to Santa what he wanted for Christmas, and gave the photographers at the mall a big smile.  I wish he would do that for me!  This isn't the best picture, especially since I had to scan it, but I love it!}

{Today I had my camera at church to take some pictures of the Primary kiddos for a project I am doing for next year, so I snapped this picture of Carter as we were leaving.  He had a rough day today, but perked up a bit when he got to play "doorman" as everyone was heading out.}

Our Newly Adopted Elf

{We decided it would be fun to get in on the "Elf on the Shelf" craze this year, but rather than spending $30 on the official one, went with this $3 little guy from the Hobby Lobby instead!  Carter remembered where the elf had been the night before and was excited to see that he had moved during the night.  I am looking forward to seeing what mischief "Little Tex" (his name for now...) will get into this Christmas season!  I plan on doing a more extensive post about his antics after Christmas.}
